Description

The listing, 1897 Baldwin's Readers reading primer has ended.

1898 Baldwin's Readers Second Year reading primer from published by the American Book Company.

This 160 page illustrated reader has no tears or rips -- not bad for a 110+ year old school book! It does, however, have discolorations, particularly on the back, and the last few pages have burn marks in them likely caused by the acid content of the paper over many years.

Very old, very cool book.

What a wonder that it has survived through all these years! Still in relatively good shape for how old it is! I, for one, appreciate it for what it is. Just wonderful!

Absolutely - so much history, so many lives - I find there is something very satisfying about holding items like this -- you can just seem to feel the real lives and time that has gone by! Oh, and I made a descriptive error - I said 1898 -- it's actually 1897, a year older! I'll see if it I can edit that -- it might not let me.

Fanned you!! I've got one that I would like to list, just not sure. It is Primary Lessons in Human Physiology Indiana State Series. From the Indiana Book Company, Indianapolis, Indiana. It has the cpoyright date of 1891 by Josephus Collett & copyrite 1896 by Edward Hawkins. I don't really know anything about antique books & was curious on how I might find out about this book? It has handwritten names in it & they were all from Hancock County Indiana. Just wondering if you might have any suggestions for me. Thanks:)
