Description

The listing, Antique Hemingray No. 40 Telegraph Insulator has ended.

You are looking at or bidding on a Hemingray No. 40 Telegraph Insulator Aqua color. This was made between 1910-1921. There is a minor stain down the side that could be removed with some steel wool or glass cleaning acid.

Please ask any questions you may have before placing your bid!
If you are the winner of this auction you have 7 days to respond with your shipping address.
To ensure safe shipping, this will be packed and shipped in a medium flat rate box to provide ample space for the insulator and packing material. I am only asking for $6, half of the cost to ship these. If the auction goes up to 5000 I will gladly ship for free.

Thank you for looking and be sure to keep an eye out for my other listings coming soon! Ranging from antique bottles, antique insulators, and antique books (now you know why my husband says enough!) maybe even a few coins here and there :) I also have some listings for sale on a couple other websites, if you are interested please message me for details.

This is a CD152 (Consolidated Design). Can you please tell me what exactly the embossings say on the front "skirt" as well as the back? Also, are the drip points rounded or sharp?

You are correct! The embossing on the front skirt is HEMINGRAY and the embossing on the back is No 40, and the base has round drip points. You should be able to view the photo's larger so you can see the actual embossing, but if it isn't working let me know and I will upload enlarged photo's so the embossing shows up better. :)

No patent date? No number on the dome? You collect insulators? My father was a lineman "back when" I was born, hah!

Yes I collect insulators, bottles, and books :) Problem is though, my collection has exceeded the amount of space I have for it. I have over 17 fruit boxes full of bottles & jars, and 5 boxes of insulators, with no shelves to display them all. From what I have found the Hemingray seems to be the most common of the insulators in my area. I do have a few with patent dates but this one is not one of them, and I have only seen a couple with a number on the dome but again this one is not one of them. Oh and I apologize but my other comment about the RDP base was incorrect, it has SDP (spiked drip points). Since your father was a lineman did you get to keep any insulators?
