This is a rare beautiful hardcover antique children's book by the famous author Oscar Wilde, a first edition dated October 1929. It has a wonderful story entitled "The Birthday of the Infanta," with full-page black and white and bright colorful illustrations/drawings by Pamela Bianco.

It was published by the Macmillan company, has 58 pages, and a blue cloth hardcover with a black cake design on the front and coats of arms inside on the light pink endpapers.

It is very clean, bright, tight for a children's book without apparent markings, tears, or other major internal damage except an owner's name inside the front cover and some foxing typical from age, largely on the end papers that does not detract from the text. The front hinge is cracked by still rather tight and the outside cover only has light edge and surface wear from handling.

Overall, a scarce and highly collectible first edition lovely old Oscar Wilde juvenile fairy tale book in nice condition for the age.
