We got Sassy when she was 9. The previous owner was teaching her western rodeo. Our Sassy, with those blue eyes, has specks of brown in them. Just a little. I always wondered about that. Now knowing shes really a pearlino I guess that explains it. she also has a blaze on her face and dappled sides. When she wet and the sun hits her we can just barely see it. Its very light. Hope you find a good new home for yours.

I have a cremello horse. She looks almost like yours. And has blue eyes as well. We are trying to sell her though

We thought Sassy was a cremello, but she started developing gold/brownish- orange on her legs when she was 15 so we had her tested for color and breeding. That’s when we learned she is actually pearlino. I think my daughter said she’s a bay, double dilute on grey gene. Not positive, but I think that’s right. Shes quarterhorse/highland pony/Morgan. She came from Texas. The King ranch in Texas imported highland ponies back in the 50s to bring back the true quarterhorse build. We assume her breeding goes back to there. She 19 now. My daughter does Dressage. She has a slew of 1st and 2nd place ribbons for performance and body build.

Thank you. My dad used to buy white horses at pony penning on Assateaque Island. He had a team of 4-6 pull his wagon. He was an iceman back in the 1930s thru early 1960s. He sold the farm in the early 1950s and bought a motorized truck. Had to get rid of the stil too ;-)

That's a really cool legacy. I'm proud to say that my unusual ancestors are the ones in my area that people still remember. My great grandpa had a steer he trained to ride tac and all in parades. His picture still hangs in the remaining auction yard in our area. I sure hope you have some pictures of your dad and his horses

I have a few pictures of the farm and one of the horses and wagon. Dad’s farm was in Baltimore City. Can you imagine, a big city like that having a poultry farm! We board out horse on an Arabian breeding farm nearby. The Arabs are so beautiful! And they are actually calm sweet horses, not flighty as I’ve heard people say.

I had a bay barb arabian mare, got her as 2 year old and trained her western. (She had foal grulla with striped legs and withers.) She was the best horse ever and so easy to ride. Had her for 10 years.
