The listing, Wireless G Range Expander has ended.

This device will extend the range of your wireless-G network. I upgraded my security to WPA2-Personal, but the WRE-54G does not support it. It will support WEP or WPA Personal security. It worked great to extend the range of my home network up 2 floors and through several walls. Once it was set up, I could pretty much forget about it. You can get a setup wizard and User's Guide from the Linksys site. Just search for WRE54G in the support area and you will find everything you need to get started. If you have no security set on your network, you can just plug it in and press the auto configuration button to set it up. Then unplug it and take it to wherever you want to locate it and plug it back in. If you have security set up on your wireless network, then you need to configure it manually, but it's not difficult if you have already set up a wireless network. Happy bidding!!

Can you use this with any brand router or do you have to use it with a Linksystem Router ?

I used it with a Verizon Actiontec wireless router. You can find more information on this device at the Linksys web site. Just search for WRE54g.

Probably a couple of years old. I can't remember when I got it,but it wasn't more than a couple of years, I'm sure. I've never had any problems with it.
