Will they grow in zone 4a? Thanks for your reply.

According to wildflowerinformation, they should be hardy from zone 3, so you shouldn't have a problem in zone 4.

Confused; these are from plants you grew or 'purchased in 2012'? I'm anti-GMO seeds is why I ask. Great auction though!

These seeds are from that batch and were traded, not purchased, in Feb 2012. :D

What I meant is were they collected from wildflowers ('left after sowing...') or from a packet? If so what company? Thanks for answering my picky question!

Thanks for clarifying, Firerie. I got the seeds about a month ago at a seed exchange. The person who provided the seeds said they were two generations' harvested from seeds purchased at a hardware store in Virginia two years ago. This is probably the last year I will grow poppies, so I didn't want them sitting around for years when they could be used by someone. I'm sorry I have no better information than this. :/

Thank you for answering my question so promptly!! I'm anti-Monsanto and don't want to spread it around, if you know what I mean.

Understood. I'm also learning about Monsanto seed companies and I hope to start my own collections from Seeds of Change seeds or other organic seed companies. For now, I'm mostly giving away all the seeds I have now after I select all that I want to grow this year. Do you know which plant seeds are modified? Are there certain seeds that we can be sure are not modified and do we know which ones in particular are modified for sure?
