this hard drive will need formating when installed it was a pull out and i know that it was working and quiet running. please lets make this on over 5000 due to it was 179.00 and i replaced it with 1 terabite drive.

You can use this via USB, You'll need a 3.5" SATA enclosure. I have a Rosewill.
