You are correct! Have to have the pastry chilled, about an hour, as it's so delicate. Have the fruit and nuts minced as chunky will tear pastry. Pick a recipe!!

Answer to Thursday's trivia question via Internet sources lol :)

Obstler or Obstbrand is a traditional brandy (Schnaps) native to Austria, Switzerland, and southern Germany. Obstler is always produced from a fruit must. It’s typically packaged young and clear, and served as an aperitif, digestif, or a warming dram in cold weather. :)

Ladies? Let's make this fun for this last recipe auction. :) Join in :)

Correct. A clear liquid distilled from fruit. Typical in Austrian recipes. Add a little to fruit, add a little to frosting, take a taste, mmm.. lol

Oblaten is a wafer type of cookie that is used in many Norwegian and German recipes and desserts. One source said it's a thin cookie that normally measures about 5 inches across, making this a large wafer. Another source gave an 8-inch diameter to the cookie.

Source: Don't know if we're allowed to put other websites on here, but just Google and info can be easily found~ tee hee :)

As far as when do you see them, I'm guessing at Christmas or Easter? :)

Anybody else find any info? :)

Yes, they are a wafer, flat, thin cookie. They can be any diameter. You put another 'cookie' type batter on top. Think of a Smores without the graham cracker on top.

If you have issues with your BUNDT cake sticking to your cake pan, let me know. First, to prevent: wait until the last minute to grease your pan. Grease well. Next, font over fill your cake pan, it will over flow and form a seal at the top. Make sure it has been scrubbed clean, real well. Previous grease can turn into a glue adhering to the cake. I use a nylon scrubby and a brush. I have even used 'Simple Green' grease release on my pans to be sure there isn't any left over residue.
I will post two more comments about what to do
Oct 22nd, 2017 at 5:52:57 PM PDT by
Original
Next:Always allow a BUNDT cake to rest 10 minutes before you turn out. Also, always run a nylon or silicon spatula around the cake and the center tube. This is a gentle way to encourage release. Then turn out on cooling rack.
If you used a spray oil to grease your pan, and your cake is stuck. Let your cake rest about an hour to cool. Then stick the cake in the freezer for a cpl. Hours. It should pop right out. Be sure and run the spatula around the edges and the tube.
If you used a solid grease, tried the spatula and it didn't come out, let stuck cake cool 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 250*. Place cake in: for a chiffon style cake 3 mn, for a pound cake 5 minutes. Run spatula along edges and it should release.
Last option: if you used solid grease and it is stuck. Boil some water. Place the cake in the sink. Wrap a towel around the sides of the cake and foil over the top. Pour the boiling water in the sink , let cake rest in boiling water. Drape a towel over the cake and water. This creates humidity/steam. Wait 15 minutes. Cake should release easily.
Enjoy your cake and don't be afraid of BUNDT pans. Remember freeze for oil and heat for solid grease.
