The listing, **My FINAL Auctions** 2 Years Cancer Free Gift Lot Dedicated to my Mother has ended.

I would normally start off with a hello, but since this auction is about my goodbye, I'll skip that part.

I've been with Listia from the beginning. I've seen it grow from a handful of folks to a massive community and then into something I no longer enjoy. There's a bunch of good folks here yet, but they seem to be outnumbered by the unkind and untrustworthy... After my last bad experience I deleted the app and then hadn't logged in for several months.

However this November marks 2 years that my mother has been cancer free. I had accumulated a few of these items last year but just didn't want to deal with all the negativity I was experiencing on the site. There's no point in letting things sit around though, right? I hope to make a decent amount of credits, find myself something nice and delete the app.

So for my last auction...I bring you everything you seen in the pictures. I will try my best to type out a list of items as soon as I have a chance. In the meantime I included a ton of photos so hopefully you can find the answer if you have any questions.

**To those of you who have helped build this community, I thank you. I met so many wonderful people over the years. I had so much fun...listia is something I will never forget. A quick glance around my home yields many Listia finds...so I do have some good memories left.

Sorry that happened to you. :( Please don't leave on account of 2 unscrupulous members who aren't even no longer active~ I checked for you... :) I'm net selling right now, either until our family moves (long story), but what I did was always immediately check the profiles of my bidders and if things didn't sit right, I simply blocked them so they could no longer participate in the auction. Done early enough, there would be no way they could win because you know they will be outbidded when you have a good listing that bidders want. :)

It was more then just the new accounts. I started running into a lot of dishonesty and people not wanting to take responsibility when they'd do something like mail a very fragile item in a paper bag. I had a very highly rated seller screw me around so much, it was disgusting. She said she was going to do this and that and never did any of it. My items showed up after a couple of weeks and it wasn't everything. And after being told they were mailed at least 3 times already. An admin was in on the whole thing, the comments were all there and I was basically told to be more careful on what I bid on. Again, there was feedback to prove I wasn't the only one having problems. I thought once someone bid they can't be blocked....

I just started charging for shipping cause people claim the things don't arrive unless you got tracking. I just spent $60 on shipping & I can't afford that. The value of points confuses me. It costs about $1 for 28,000 points, but if you bid it's not at all near that.

It's sooooo expensive. It got to the point that I was spending way too much, bc you're right, you need tracking. It was nice for awhile when I could send items with just a stamp or two.

Congrats to your mom being 2 years cancer free! That is awesome.
I too can relate, I have been with listia from the very early days and I sent out a lot of items and received some great items, however the last few interactions have been horrible and listia just immediately sides with the claiming party. I haven’t listed anything in quiet some time because of the same reason. I have quiet a few point I need to spend to be able to just close my account.

Thank you!! I was cleaning yesterday and came across a clock I won last year. It was heavily damaged in shipping due to being sent in a paper bag..I had just shoved it away in hopes of fixing it another time. Well I found it was totally destroyed so I just threw it away. It was upsetting all over again. I just don't want or need that negativity.

It was much better then... Don't know exactly what happened but i very rarely do the auctions anymore--- it used to be a fun game of auctions now it seems it is all about greed...so sad.

Wow. This has been the most comments i have EVER seen before! I actually forgot what the auction was... Lol.
(Memory problems & emotions flared up now) It is great for me to witness this much support & warmth on so many levels. Not to mention the # of folks that took the time to say how they related to another's comment, or show support, share grief compare their negative experience on Listia to so many others, well wishers & words of encouragement & wisdom!!! THANK YOU to every kind Listian for showing up and sharing all this here. It has touched me when i needed to be pulled out of my darkness. I am quite sure its a GOD thing. I was supposed to click around on Listia for nothing but kept clicking anyway.... I got my blessings from this. I feel my spirit got hugged & can see more light than dark now.
I lost my Mom 6 months ago & i am not ok. I just cant take it. But i find i get thru another day. Like today. THANKS to Listia.
*** i dont like some of what i see on Listia, definitely NOT some people i have had to deal with... Blocked 35 total so far in almost 4 years! But for the most part, there is much more love & kindness that finds me than the a-holes that try to spread harm. They are all over the real world too. So i just limit what makes me vulnerable & try to remember: there are alot of souls out there- way more miserable than me. So i dont need to take everything so seriously.

Well protect yourself always. Don't go out of your way, get your hopes up or trust someone outside of an auction. Trust your instincts as well. I had a major problem with a user once and I just knew it would be negative feedback and I'd loose the couple hundred credits...so I outright refused to send the item. Ill be darned if i was knowingly going to lose credits and an item.

About scammers; I know how you feel. I left for twice because of buttt-holes like them. Liars, thrives and people that just have no other reason in the world but to try to get over on someone. I have no use for them.
The bummer thing about it is, Listia does nothing about these kinds of people (and it will continue to go on). I don't even think they read our threads with these scammers to see who is in the right.
Again, I'm glad you're doing fine. There is more to life than Listia, we can thank Gaia for that. Take care!

I kinda feel like some of the admins are in on the scamming. :( I've had cases where there was absolutely no way anyone sane would side with the other party and then they do it! I have asked question after question, asked for explanations when you can clearly see I wasn't in the wrong, and they are out right ignored. I mean if you win a tiered auction and the seller says ok pick 22 items, then sends you 19, not the ones you selected AND lies about the items being shipped 3 or 4 times, thats complete bs. There should have been repercussions for that. Instead I wasn't even aloud to return the items for a refund! I check out this sellers feed back and not 1 but 2 other users have the exact same issue I did. I couldn't even leave the sob negative feedback!

I have only been on I think alil over 3 years and have watched listia change so much. I was newly separated after 33 yrs of marriage it was a God send. Help me get through many lonely hard nights. Now it's begun to horrible. Not only the new ppl scammers and so on but some ppl to don't understand this site was a place you could sell something u no longer wanted and get something you wouldn't be able to get because buying in a store it would cost to much. Now these ppl put stuff on here there trying to get rich off of. This isn't a place you put an item up for auction and ask for the amount u paid for it in credits. I hope that makes since. Some ppl beat all I've ever seen. Sorry for going on like that. I'm happy for ur mom dad to hear you'll be leaving. Not many like you on here. I'll admit it was nice when the amount of new items increased a bit...but things just got outta hand with tons of people doing the same exact thing...then the selling of credits, to me, kinda just ensured that a certain type of user will be around for awhile.

I feel ya, i was riding high & dry but i had after bad experience with a fake UD makeup palette (which i stupidly left feedback before i realized it wasfake) (long story short - NEVER BUY URBAN DECAY PALETTES ON LISTIA! No matter how good the seller feedback is
after that i stopped for awhile and when I came back isaw that all my credits were basically worthless... But afew things are a good deal So i stick around mainly to buy stickers for my nieces and nephews. I only sell digital items so I don't have to worry about tracking and i never charge more than what the 2nd lowest price is cos i funny wasn't to be part of the problem
I use ebay primarily now , there is *slightly * better seller protections there. You may want to consider shifting your business there

I hope your mom continues to thrive. My mom has alzheimers and sometimes it feels like I already lost her. So hug your mom for me (if that's not too weird;)

I tried this to get presents for my children for xmas. Just had to say I always smile at strangers and say hello as I pass them, but sometimes they don't smile back at all. I've even had a few say what the hell you looking at LOL. But It only because a problem for me if I make it one.. Once my husband was walking the dog when the neighbor started yelling at him for leaving
poop in alley of house. My husband showed him the poop bags and explained he always picked his dog's messes. The man kept screaming at him, my husband waved and said have a nice day. The man looked stunned and shut right up LOL.

I just recently earned my trusted seller badge I've had my account for awhile but only active the last month or so. I have already Exprianced what you speak of. I had one person send a very expensive rare porcine doll first class but all they did was warp it in brown paper needless to say she wound up broken least seller was decent enoug very good feedback claim then I had a seller not respond to message for 7 days untill I contacted list then provided bad tracking number and so rude needless to say item has yet to be recieved but finally a refund was credited. Then the 925 Sterling silver ring with saphirres that was actually copper plated with silver and glass gems It was a forgery with a 925 stamp clear violation of Listia policy I had proof from jewlers I paid the jewler to write up a motorized statement I provided photos of items testing provider and results and still I had to pay more money to ship it back when seller was selling fraudulent item and failed to have it tested prior then it took 4 days after the seller receiving to refund my hundreds of thousands credits. But there are also amazing people here one lady I was interested in her ty twigs beanie baby as it was my first one that I actually won from radio Disney but she wanted over 2 million for him but out of know where she asked for my address sent him and another to me for free as she appricated my honesty. So there good and bad I do it for fun and don't think it will go further then that I love ur auction!

I’ve been on Listia for awhile too and I was thinking the same thing. I had someone leave me POSITIVE feedback, then request a refund. Are you kidding me?! Thankfully, the admins didn’t approve, but there has been a lot more issues and it makes the whole experience far less enjoyable. So very sorry you had such nasty people ,I think we all have had them over the years.I give away for my rescue animals to support them on here.Which I am not on here 24/7 like some are. And some think you should live on listia.Many I had to dispute and get credits back and many have try to scam me too.But, I hang in here and report the ones who think they can scam me or my friends.

I am new to here. I am sorry you had bad experiences. I wish you all the happiness and hope you have a great last exsperiance. I would like to say congratulations on you mother continued health. I lost a sister to lung brain cancer. 2 years later the lady I loved more than the world my sister in law to skin lymphnod and god know what all kind she was eat up with it due to her treatment. And now 3 years almost after that my other sister in law is fighting clan cancer for almost a year. Now it is hard and heart breaking good luck to you.

Same thing has happened to me- screwed by several trying to get free items- they got both the items & my credits unfortunately 3 different times but at least I blocked them. They have to live with that though being dishonest & there will always be people that way. It will never change. We need to get a list together & have a place to go to get it & block everyone of them. Then I bought a huge auction-items were missing, no gift card & they lied because they had wanted to get more credits. The true neg I got was when I was new & really didn't understand Listia & no one explained everything to me-after that I was ok but although I won disputes I was unable to leave a neg for many of them since Listia did not allow it..Another was so psychotic & lied trying to blame everything on an ex husband-emailed constantly-lied & did the exact same thing to another seller a month before me-Listia really needed to seriously boot that one but I see she is no longer on though-but we all know some do that & just start new accounts.I tried to sell credits several times & they never sold but all the other sites are the same-ebay, amazon, etc you have to deal with all the negativity, bad sellers, bad buyers, etc

Congratulations to your mom. Sorry to hear about your problems buyers and sellers. I havent been here that long but ive had my fair share of bad dishonest buyers and sellers. Im always give postive feedback no matter what happens. I did have admin side with me lately they me my credits back from a item i won and never received. She said she sent it and it almost a month . The thing is...shes actually really my mother in law. 13 years ago she welcomed me into her family and has been more of a mother to me then my real one ever was in 32 years. I get treated just like her children. Anything done for my husband and his sister, is done for me. We go out to eat or hit our Dr appts together. She has copd on top of a bunch of other problems so I also do a lot of running for her and help with the petty stuff no one wants to bother with. Like she really wanted some fall leaf decorations for on top of her kitchen cabinets...well she can't take all the scents and a lot of walking in the craft stores so I went and picked her up a few to choose from. She was so happy with the decorations. Its nice to see someone appreciate the little things in life like that. It really is a wonderful relationship. I shop for her and find new things she might enjoy and she provides me with the compassion and love I was always lacking. We often b*tch to each other about the dumbest things too so there's also a lot of laughter. I'm the lucky one here

I do not unfortunately know you but can sure appreciate the way Listia has changed. Been scammed, lied to you name it. As for the ridiculous payment method, why should we miss out on the credits and the bidder in front of the cheater misses out winning. I still do not believe what in the heck Listia was ever thinking. I wrote to them several times suggesting why can't the newbies not be allowed to sell or buy until they are verified. I know...it doesn't get acknowledged. I feel like some of the admins are in on the scamming. If you find a scam listing, check out all the bids. 99% of the bidders are new unverified users. So you can open a new account, rack up free easy points, then use your main account to put up a bogus item. Once won, the credits transfer and your points start to add up. Its a bit of pain but if you're constantly racking up points with no money involved, you can get quite a few useful things on here. So yea, I'm over it. Thank you for your kind words.

I ended up with several people, all new users, claiming they never received the items. They were all mailed first class, so no tracking. So then they got the credits back too. 2 of the users even had feedback from other users stating they know the item was received but buyer claimed they didn't. Listia still refunded the credits. That's just a part of it...There's clearly admins here who arent the most honest and other sketchy-ness. So I'm out.

Beautiful auction I agree it's a darn shame what has happened here on listia as I too have had bad experiences here I used to do both the selling and the buying stopped doing the selling as so many just so mean always had something to say so I basically started just buying as was easier on me being on disability it's how I got gifts for every Christmas and birthday ect... free credits with surveys but again being burned and scammed outta shipping payments I too will be leaving listia after this holiday season is over after that well gifts can come homemade it's not always about gifts anyway but there was a time this was very enjoyable such a shame I wish you luck and I am watching auction

Blessings to you and your sweet mother! My mother passed away of lung cancer. My brother just had surgery to have his bladder removed, due to cancer. It's just terrible. I also am leaving listia. I've deleted all my listings, besides 2 with bids, then I'm gone. All for mostly the same reasons. Some of the meanest most dishonest people I've ever seen in my life on here. That's not the kind of world I want to be in. And so many fake people, it's just sickening. I have met some good people, but just a handful. Good luck in everything you do and God bless you! ;-)
