Kids LOVE them!!!

They come with the batteries needed.

They fit on fingers and the laser color beams can be seen in semi darkened rooms or once dusk outside and at night. Just like laser pointers except you can see the beams and on surfaces as well. I got a bunch last 4th of July, all the kids LOVED them. Used them again and again. Forgot I had some set aside. Since weather was so the kids played neighborhood tag (more like run around laughing looking at the lasers for no real purpose besides fun) the other night. Kids seem to just love anything that glows or lights up:) They made teams and separate the colors so each had one and there were 4 teams but just ran around in color teams you get it ... Also love to draw pictures on a wall in a dark room and take guesses at what someone is drawing ... I guess like laser pictionary or sharades of sort ... they find all sorts of things to do with whatever! These seem to not lose their "Luster". Great for parties! Sleep overs too! Rainy days inside. Really anytime!
