Fanned and watching. Pls, fan back. Yes, the puzzle piece is the missing link to whatever they studied and discovered can cause autism in the brain. The call it "The Missing Piece." I'm not gonna bid; but wanted to share the tidbit of info that I know. (I'm also slightly autistic; although, I have tons of friends in real life that don't even realise I have a problem! I've been socialised all my life, and most people think I'm alright. It's amazing to me, how many people don't realise that I am autistic!) Thanks for letting me share a small window on my world. Have a great day. -EJ =D

@KELLYMARIE - Add & adhd are not actually part of the autism spectrum. Even though alot of people with Asperger syndrome do have it. At the moment the American Psychiatric Association is redifining the definition of autism. Under the new defintion Asperger syndrome & pdd-nos will be removed. If you have loved ones who have those diagnoses you may want to find out what that will mean for them & be prepared. Google American Psychiatric Association is redifining autism
It is big news in the autism world right now. Also if anyone ever has questions about autism - feel free to ask me!!

PDD-NOS stands for Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified. Meaning they don't really know!! All they do know is that they have an all around developmental disorder. Alot of Dr.'s go with it when they don't want to give a full blown autism diagnosis. Some want to wait & see how their development goes. .A very frustrating diagnosis I think. Was one of my sons first after anxiety syndrome. Followed by severe classic autism, severe ocd ( over compulsive disorder ) & 3 of the 7 sensory disorders. He has alot on his plate for shure!!
If you look at the butterfly you will see the ribbon is the autism ribbon. I think it is one of their prettiest designs - I love butterflys!!

Oh okay I can see it now. How neat. Thanks so much for the education. Wow! I know that is frustrating to get NOS on any diagnosis especially when you know something is not right...

I have AS (Asperger's Syndrome), ADHD, and depression. I think more people need to be aware of things like autism. It is very misunderstood.

I agree. Other than just finding out about my cousin's kids since making this listing, sadly in our lives unless we are touched by someone we don't relate. Someone asked if it was related. I wasn't sure till I looked it up. Hopefully this pin will travel through Listia and help us become aware.

Snuggleshark is right, more ppl need to be aware of Autism. OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Thank God, I don't have that one. I do have Asperger's Syndrome with Autism, and Wide Mood Disorder, and MDD-Major Depressive Disorder around the winter months. Right now, that is still hanging with me, but I'm trying to use more light exposure during the days, and leaving the doors of the hs open even well into the night when my husband is home, to enjoy the night air. I also have ADD-Attention Deficit Disorder. Anybody wanna top that??? LOL It's not fun by any means, especially since I don't respond well to antidepressants and antianxiety meds. However, I trust God and lean on Him to Get me Through every day. Some days are still better than others by a long shot. I know that no one likes having someone jumping up and down and yelling at them. When someone is doing that to me, lately, I call it 'playing deaf.' I think that is the autism kicking in, but since I don't have a very good definition of autism, I really don't know. I know that I am not on meds for autism. Idk if that's good or not, either. Thanks for letting me share again. The only things I'm on meds for is my ADD, and my fibromyalgia. Please, visit my auctions: ej_the_dj. Thanks, and have a great day. -EJ =DDD

thanks for sharing and bidding...

I hope this pin will travel to continue to make those around aware. AS (Asperger's) is less known than autism, I think.
