The listing, Rare 1909 Navajo Indians Antique 1st Edition American History Vintage Old Book Illustrated has ended.
This is a very rare antique first 1st edition Navajo Indian historical book with numerous beautiful illustrations published in 1909 in good condition for the age. It is entitled "The Navajos," "Little Histories of North American Indians" by Oscar H. Lipps, published by The Torch Press of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with 136 paqes.
This scarce vintage American history book is still entirely bound, appears to be mostly clean throughout without apparent significant tears or markings to the text pages.
The table of contents includes Spanish explorers, the Southwest, Cliff Dwellings and Ancient Ruins, Evidence of a Pre-Historic Race, Slavery, the Medicine Man, Wars and Warriors, Kit Carson, General Sibley Invades New Mexico, Reservations, Superstitions and Myths, Ceremonies, and more!
The book has a pictorial engraved bookplate pasted inside the front cover showing it belonged to the University of California at Santa Cruz, appears to have been neatly rebound, and there are only minimal typical library markings inside the covers that do not detract from the text.
Overall, a wonderful and rare antique first edition book in good condition that would be appreciated by anyone who reads or collects old and rare books, especially relating to American history or Indians.
