This piece of jewelry is a real conversation piece. The silver part isn't marked, so I'm not sure what it is. They usually make these with 18kgp.
These sea creatures first appeared 415 million years ago in the form of a small, straight shelled creature, known as Bacrites. During their evolution the ammonites faced no less than three catastrophic events that would eventually lead to their extinction. The first event occurred during the Permian (250 million years ago), where only 10% survived. These surviving species went on to flourish throughout the Triassic, however at the end of this period (206 million years ago) they faced near extinction, when all but one species survived. This event marked the end of the Triassic and the beginning of the Jurassic, during which time the number of ammonite species grew once more. The final catastrophe occurred at the end of the Cretaceous period when all species were annihilated and the ammonites became extinct. Ammonites began life as tiny planktonic creatures less than 1mm in diameter.
Please check out my other auctions. I have a lot of nice ones and add new ones all the time. If you win one of my auctions and are bidding on others please let me know so I can wait and send them together. Since I pay for the shipping on 99% of my auctions I always have a HUGE postal bill so any savings I can get would be greatly appreciated. I have auctioned over 1000 items and have 100% feedback. If you get something your not happy with just let me know your sending it back and I'll refund your credits. If you've paid the shipping I will refund it. If I paid shipping you'll have to pay to send it back. Of course you can't keep the item AND get your credits back. I do have a small inside dog and smoke. So, if either really bother you, please don't bid. Thank-you for looking at my auctions and good luck on all your bids!
