I don't even know if i put these under the right section lol. i bought these in 1996 and they have not been in no jewelsafe keep box or anything and they have not tarnished a bit, there is no markings on them except smithsonian i have the top of the original box and the bottom that slides over it but i am missing and maybe can find the insert bottom box, maybe i can get alittle help from all the avon dealers out here as to if this is sterling because i kinda get a little memory when i bought it and worked for avon in 96 that is was, all i know is it is heavyyyyyyyyyyyy and blingy as all get out lol thanks for looking and i hope you like it and someone can help as to what the metal is, because it never has been cleaned and never tarnished not one single bit, this is definitely not for you if you do not wish to be noticed cause whew honey everyone will notice this when you walk into a room(not for the shy wallflower type at all!!!!! any questions on anything i can answer feel free to comment or email i read and answer every single one i get and thanks so much =)sorry i took so many pictures of the back but i was trying to get the stamp =)

This remarkable set dating to the 1990s was fashioned based on a pair of earrings once owned by Queen Marie Antoinette now held in the Smithsonian Institution. Each piece is comprised of high quality clear rhinestones set in heavy cast silver-tone settings that appear to be rhodium plated. Comes in original box with inserts. All pieces are marked "Smithsonian Avon". Necklace measures a wearable length of about 16" long; earrings are 2" long. All pieces are in excellent condition and appear to have never been worn.
