Description

The listing, Lot of four Rings (Storage unit auction find) has ended.

This listing is for all four rings

I got them from a storage unit auction that I won.

I do not know the sizes

They are all silver colored but I don't know if they are real silver or not.
They have stones but I don't know what they are.
I really don't know a lot about jewelry so your guess is as good as mine.

One ring is inscribed on the inside with "James and Sarah"

A penny fits completely inside all of them. A nickel is slightly larger.

UPDATE 11/21 - I found a magnet and none of these rings stick to it. So, whatever it means, they are non-magnetic.

I just looked this up,again! If item sticks to a magnet it has no value as far as precious metals! One exception is if cobalt is alloyed in the mixture,in some platinum jewelry(95%alloyed w/5%cobalt)can be extremely magnetic! Hope that helps!

If you put a coin that best fits each ring that would give people a better idea of the size if you dont have a ring sizer and if you do the magnet test to see it they are silver would be helpful too. Just in case you haven't done it before if the rings stick to the magnet then they are silver and if not then they aren't. Then again they could be white gold but if they are then they should be marked 14K 10K and so on. Just thought I would message you and tell you this. Nice auction by the way.

Pretty, but if they stick to magnet, not real! Real precious metals do not stick to magnets!

More info! If it sticks, it has ferromagnetic material mixed in material for magnet to stick. There are 3 elements that are ferromagnetic, cobalt(CO) nickel(NI) iron (FE).If metal alloy has been plated w/silver to make silver plate-magnet will stick!

I understand the penny fits inside all of them but are you saying the nickel does as well? We dont have the penny anymore so just trying to visualize the size. Thanks!

Penny fits cleanly inside of them. The nickel is slightly too big to fit inside. I will take photos and add them later today.

If they arent sticking to the magnet they arent sterling silver. Probably silver plated.

Sterling silver should not stick to a magnet, silver is non magnetic and copper with is the alloy used to harden it, is also not magnetic, some silver may contain nickel, but not enough to draw a magnet either. Sterling is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
