The listing, purple hosta seeds has ended.
i harvested these from the purple hosta plants in the first pic. probably about 50 seeds (in pic #2), though i didn't count them. hostas make for GREAT landscaping. they come up (in wisconsin) in late march, with broad leaves in shades of green, sometimes striped or variegated (standard hosta foliage in pic 3). they bloom for several weeks in mid to late summer. they will tolerate almost any environment in the u.s. as long as they get a mix of sun and shade.
note: there may be a darker purple, pink or even white hosta seeds mixed in, as i harvested these from a garden with many varieties. also found on a hosta growers site, "Leaf color, leaf shape, and leaf texture in seedlings will vary tremendously from the parent hosta, and from seedling to seedling." you may end up with many varieties. :D
hostas are VERY easy to grow, and make for GREAT landscaping. once planted, they will grow on their own year after year. i make no guarantee on these seeds, as like all plants, they need proper care to germinate and mature. i will say it's best to grow them into seedlings inside, and then plant where you want them when they're a few inches tall. contact me for more detailed instructions, if you need help/suggestions. ;)
i have to start bidding at 75, just to make sure i get something in return for free shipping. *shrugs*
