Another sad laptop story. My friend gave me this little Gateway, said it had a blank screen. To my delight, it turned on first time that I tried it. I recovered it, added a webcam, changed the password, and totally customized it. A few days later went to turn it on, and blank screen! Googled it, a million suggestions how to get it to turn on, from a specific sequence involving removing power cord and battery, to holding down specific buttons. I give up. The computer powers on, wireless icon flashes, it recognizes the cd rom drive. Sometimes I hear the little beep when the power button is pushed. I don't hear the fan. Someone else said the fan might need cleaning. After removing ten tiny screws and still no where near disassembling this, put the screws back in and gave up. Model is MT3422. I added a gig of ram, so now has 2 gbs, which is max., has only two slots. HD is 160 Gb, widescreen is 14.1 inches. Running Vista Home. Middle photo shoes power light on, battery holds a charge, power cord included. Offered for parts or repair, when this worked it was a great little laptop.
