Diana, Princess of Wales died on August 31, 1997. Warner announced the Beanie Baby Princess on October 29, 1997 in honor of Princess Diana.[11] Warner said that all proceeds would be donated to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. The Princess Diana Beanie Baby was sent to vendors to distribute in the second week of December 1997. Some vendors had to wait until February 1998. Only 12 Beanie Baby Princesses were released to each vendor initially, but this changed due to strong demand.(Taken from wiki)

from what i am told this bear is worth allot apparently one the most pricey beanie babies there are so i decided to see how it would do on listia hope all goes well

Sorry to say the comments here are correct. This is NOT the rare one. No insult or accusation of fraud intended but it is probably a knock off. Many were made and look great but just not worth much. The original, with the identifying ,markings as listed by posters here, is worth in excess of $5000. If you truly beieve this is that bear, why on earth would you list it here for free and offer free shipping as well.
AS the saying goes, "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is."

My Mother really loved Princess Diana,I remember she took me to Seattle where they were showing off her dresses and I got to see my favorite dark sapphire blue dress.I would love to try to get this for her,she would love it!F&W

I did some research and found out that the ones made with PVC pellets are the rare ones because they stopped making them in 1999 and then started making them with PC pellets.

I also have one of these bears, they are beautiful whichever it is. I do know its a really good auction though because like someone stated before it is retired so you can't just buy it if you want to. Good auction and I hope you get a lot of credits! :)

Actually I can prove both of them wrong it isn't a knock off at all as a matter of fact I HAVE 3 of these bears the same princess Diana and yes they are rare because you CANNOT find them anywhere! They are very collectible so great auction!
