Up for bids: A "Fancy" Serial # - Ladder 24456677

Collecting coins and currency is fun & potentially very profitable. Of all the type of collectibles within the currency area, "FANCY" SERIAL NUMBERS are growing the fastest. There are a # of different types of "Fancy" serial numbers that are collectible & interesting. Here is one definition of a "Fancy" S/N:

"Fancy is a generic term for bills where the main attraction is an interesting S/N..."

Here are the main types of "Fancy" S/N's:

Binary: A "Binary" S/N has only 2 digits in the S/N: 55555553, 12121111

High: A "High" S/N is a $1 bill with a S/N of 95999999 & up to 99999999.

Ladder: A "Ladder" is a S/N in some sort of ascending or descending order. 12345678 is a perfect "up" ladder & 76543210 is a perfect "down" ladder. After the perfect ladders, the ladder is in the eye of the beholder.

Low: A "Low" number is a low S/N. 00000001 is the lowest. 4 or more zeroes at the start of the S/N can be considered low.

Radar: A "Radar" S/N reads the same in either direction, just like the word radar does. 12344321, 54988945

Repeater: A "Repeater" S/N repeats a pattern, typically 2 or 4 times. Ex: 12341234, 45034503, 27272727

Solid/Semi-Solid: A "Solid" S/N is when all eight digits are the same. Ex: 55555555. A "Semi-Solid" is when five or more of the eight digits are the same & in a row. Ex: 11111333 or 65777777
