This isn't a candle holder. It's actually a bottom or base to an epergne. There would be horns also made of glass that sit in the holes. Search hobnail epernge under google images and you'll see what I'm talking about. I can't post a link it's against listia's rules.

I sell antiques including glassware so I know what I'm talking about. A lot of people who don't know about different types of glassware especially something as rare as an epergne would assume that this is a candle holder. It could defiantly be be used as a candle holder. I found your piece in milk glass on ebay listed as an epergne base. - fenton milkglass hobnail epergne bowl patent # 3547569 That's the title of the auction. The reason I decided to comment was if someone is searching for what it actually is you'd be missing out on potential credits by listing it only as a candle holder. Have a good day and good luck with your auction.

There's a huge difference in the one one Ebay and yours. look closer at the seam lines on the Ebay. Yours doesn't have those lines. This is a good thing. Nor do I see patient pending on the other one. Leaves me to believe it's a reproduction, but I'm no expert by any means.

Thanks for your feedback! Just want to let everyone know that I purchased a azure blue one at the same time and does have the Fenton signature as well as the patent number. The term "patent pending" leads me to believe that it is one of the first ones to be produced. If it is a copy of a Fenton piece then I have got to give the makers credit because sitting side by side you can not tell the difference.
