A wireless receiver is simply a miniaturized USB wireless receiver that lets you link one or more devices, including your mouse and keyboard (which must be of compatible design), to the same computer. It will also serve as your mouse.

You just plug it into your computer and if you have a compatible keyboard it links the two together so they both work without a wire. It can also be used as your primary mouse.
