would love to agree with you Mark, but I did the magnet trick it is non magnetic, but a magnet doesn't always tell you if its silver. A magnet doesn't stick to a new quarter neither. Still cannot say for sure if it is silver

drop it in a freshly opened coke. a coin made of zinc will make it bubble more. sorry to say it will make the coke taste funny. such a waste of a coke.... also, if you have one of those cubic zirconium rings(diamond works too), you can rub the stone on silver and it will scratch the surface a bit, but on an inferior metal, it will leave deep gouges. i learned about these tips on KERA from this weird little man who does cool stuff with antiques.
