I don't know what OBD1 means, if you could explain that for everyone I would be very grateful! And I looked on the back of the box and it says that this is for passenger cars from 1981-1995 and trucks and vans from 1981-1995, and I thank you, that is a very good point!

OBD is On Board Diagnostics, its the cars computer that checks different parts of the car to make sure it is operating correctly. if something is wrong, it will turn on the check engine light and put a code in the computer which this device can then read. There are two versions of OBD, and this device is only compatible with the first version.
