Description

The listing, vintage quilt blocks from an estate sale. has ended.

here we have 9 very vintage quilt blocks.. i picked these up at an estate sale. i was thinking of putting them in fames and hanging on the wall. but i have too many projects going on right now. i thought these were nice, but i dont think i would make them into a quilt. some are stained and a couple have holes. but if someone wants them i will part with them, if not they will go back in my sewing projects waiting to be done plastic bin. lol any questions please ask, they are approximately 10-12 inches. the first picture is of the fronts of them and the second is of the backs.. the backs look to be finished with one solid piece of material over each of them. whom ever made these must have saved every little scrap of material. so im thinking depression era.. not sure though

thanks, i really didnt want to give them up, we are moving soon and i know i will never get to put them all in frames and make nice wall pictures out of them. so i hope whom ever wins loves them. the estate sale i got these from, the lady had a ton of sewing things. and alot of the material was no good, i was looking through it to see if i can find pieces to go in the middle of a quilt and found these. i looked for more, but only found the 9 of them. good luck to all who bid.

Looks like it might have men's shirt fabric & the back looks like a coat type. I could be wrong, my grandma used to do this.

the back material is too thin to be coat material, and the tops could be old shirts, but i do think maybe a type of ribbon too, cause some are shiny strips. i dont know, its all different types of fabric material i think. i hope whom ever gets these will appreciate them, i know i do. i really wanted to put them in frames. i think they would look really cool in a sewing room hanging on the wall in nice frames. good luck to all of you.

I would be willing to bet that a good number of the shiny pieces are mens neckties and judging by the patterns I can make out there seems to be a fair amount of "sportswear" too. Going by the colors and the prints that look like mens pajamas I'm guessing that the earliest fabrics are from the 40's,maybe late 30's,but it doesn't look from here like there is anything newer than mid 50's. Somebody is getting a stack of treasures!
