The listing, Sony Cybershot DSC-P71 3.2 MP Digital Camera has ended.

*** Please read all information below to make an informed decision ***

This was my first digital camera that I got in 2002. It is still in excellent condition and works great!

* Point & shoot, 3.2 MP, 3x optical zoom lens, 2x digital zoom.
* Uses either Ni-MH rechargeable AA batteries, or lithium AA’s. You can also use alkaline AA’s, but they won’t last as long.
* One of the great things about this cam is it has a view-finder. Much easier to get your shot on a sunny day outdoors.
* It shoots MPEGs without sound, no high def.
* Comes with two 128 MB Sony memory sticks, a USB connector cable and leather camera bag. I’ll also send the battery charger that came with the camera, but it’s been years since I used it and don’t know if it works.

Thx - even though not high MP, it's still a great camera. And it's hard to find one of the smaller point 'n shoots with a view finder nowadays.

great description! tho, it would be great to know if the battery charger works or not. i must buy a camera with the charger, as i am finding out quickly how expensive non rechargeable lithium batteries are, and they dont last , for me, for no more than a week or so...that expense adds up quickly! is there any way that you could pop the batteries in and see if they would charge? if not, oh well....thanks! sheri

I found a pair of rechargeables and just plugged them into the charger. The light came on! Now, we'll see if they charge up - I don't know .... they're pretty old. I'll check 'em out in the morning, and then will comment back here to let you know how it goes.

dearest jupiter blue...kewl name! thank you sooooooooo much for FINDING those darn batteries, and putting them in to charge! thats a good sign if the light goes on....my light goes on, but, nobody is home :-( !!! so, i appreciate all your help and please let me know in the morning if the batteries are working! i hope they do, and i get this camera...the charger alone is more than your whole package! lithium batteries alone are waaaay expensive, like $15 for four, but they only last, maybe 50 flashes...too much money....thanks again! sheri in lake tahoe :-)

You're very welcome Sheri. Hopefully we can tell with these old batteries. I'm not sure what happens when they're old, if they will even charge up. But it is a good sign the light came on, so it's trying to work anyway. Lucky you .... I love Lake Tahoe!

thanks, again, JupiterBlue! i really do appreciate all of your help. so, DID the charger work at one time? im assuming that it did....and, i have to assume that rechargeable batteries wear out at SOME POINT, right?! NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, especially LOVE....unfortunately. lovely people, lovely life...but, i mean like a husband. maybe you are one of the few lucky ones and have a nice husband, for life....i hope so! thanks again for all of your help. i really do appreciate, and if all works well, i will get this camera! i need a nice camera with the charger....ive been looking just into the lithium battery chargers and they are not cheap. and, i love the fact that this one comes with a leather case...how great! sheri in, YES, beautiful lake tahoe :-) been here 22 years minus a few to be married to a vampire...a REAL one.....yes, born and raised in TRANSYLVANIA, ROMANIA...a REAL place....a REAL nut!!! the accent is what got me!!!! very sexy...they are raised with scotch in their baby bottles...they are ALL alcoholics...add porn to that, which, i didnt know, and you got yourself a real weirdo!!! live and learn...dont YOU ever marry a vampire!!! :-)

Well, about the charger - last night when I put the batteries in, the light on the charger came on gold, and this morning, it was still gold. I think maybe it's supposed to turn green when the batteries are charged up? Maybe another Listian knows. They were warm to the touch. I took them out and inserted in another camera, and they didn't work at all. The camera turned on for a split second, then went off. So .... I believe these rechargeable batteries are just no good. And as for the charger, I still don't really know if it works for sure. Will it charge up a set of new batteries? Possibly ...

It's a Sony charger. Maybe someone in Listia-land knows if the light is supposed to turn green when batts are charged? And if the light turns gold does that mean it's trying to charge (and most likely works)?
