Well if you like movies literally swimming in blood & gore you are in for a bloodfeast with these two DVD's....first up we have the 2006 THE DEPARTED where everyone in the movie is in everpresent danger of joining the departed. Detectives and Irish Mobsters alike are constantly looking over their shoulders where you barely have time to see their faces to determine which huge star is which. Amazingly this film garnered 6 Oscars and I say amazingly because Martin Scorsese kept killing off his stars with buckets of blood flying.....literally buckets, you think I'm kidding when I say this, a big star is pushed off a roof and you don't see him hit, you hear him hit and buckets of blood fly everywhere, the actors needed raincoats! This happened throughout the movie, different modes of dispatch, same copious amounts of blood....my bf (viewing it for the first time with me) was a veritable litany of "Holy S%#T!". Sam Peckinpaw aint got nothin on Martin Scorsese....
Now for the second half of our bloodfest we have MURDER PARTY. Essentially a guy holds a party for some starving artists and anonymously invites an off duty Cop/Nerd to it who shows up only to get tied to a chair with a bomb strapped to him and be tortured by one and all.....silly artists! To his credit and even his own surprise the cop gets free but by this time has gone completely bonkers and gets ahold of a chainsaw from his captors and proceeds to exact his revenge on the blood thirsty partygoers. The walls, floors and artists are covered in blood and gore for many long chainsawing moments and many more "Holy S#&T's from my bf.....Enjoy! Both these DVD's are previewed but in great shape, come in their cases sans the worthless little brochures they originally came with so obviously they aren't sealed in a cellophane for collecting or resale. And YES, you get both movies, BOTH!
