My general rule, is to ONLY set a GIN on HIGH dollar items, and set the GIN for a little above and beyond the "Average" for items similar to what I'm listing have gone for.... Thata ways I don't feel jipped or get "hustled"... These are WELLLLLL worth 2500 or MORE, just like wchristina1520 said.... She is TOTALLY RIGHT ON!!! I hope you have fun and rake in a load f Credits for your rokkin Quality Items! Fanned and Watching and soon to Bid as well = Really hope this helped hunn!!! I LOVE THESE!!! ~Chrissie
Here's an example.... I had a listing w a GIN of 12,500... I had to pay oout (I can't remeber how much) X amt of Credits to put the GIN on my Auction. When the Bids got to 6.250 the GIN option was taken off of my listing BY LISTIA Themselves, and I did NOT get my Credits back that I paid to put a GIN option on my listing to begin with. B/c the GIN was removed.not used, I did NOT have to pay out the thousands (YES, over 1,000 credits would have been my fee if GIN would have been used) of Credits from my winning bid. HOWEVER, IF GIN had been used, I would have had to pay the original fee, then ALSO PAY the % rate on the winning Bid Credit amount! Also hunn, All too often, sadly, ppl try like mad to talk us into lowering our days or adding a low GIN Because they KNOW in advance that the Item(s) up for Grabs WILL GO FOR MANY MANY MANY CREDITS! They are simply trying to get you/us to lower days, set a GIN at a low rate so that they can "snipe" the item, so to speak, and get it Fast and Cheap. I have found that if ppl are asking me to lower days or set a low GIN, I definately DO NOT, b/c thats a pretty good indicator that the Auction listed is Most Surely going to Sell for HIGH Credit amounts! I hope this helps hunn... I don't generally use a GIN b/c once someone uses the GIN button, you can NOT earn any more credits than that. IF you have a GIN your Item(s) Can ONLY sell for up to as much as you set the GIN for =( What if you set a 1,000 GIN for these? And someone like me, came along and said "Holy Cow Gal!!! I just saw a set of less than these go for 5,467!!!!!' WHICH I DID! Just a couple weeks ago =)... You'd be out sooooooo many credits =(.... Continued in nxt comment.....
Also, you have to pay Listia a "Fee" just to opt to put a GIN on your Auction. Also, you can set your GIN as HIGH as you WANT to =) What ever you feel your item(s) is/are worth, you pick that to be your GIN, HOwever, once your bids reach half of your GIN, your GIN will be disabled but you wilo NOT get your Fee back. But if GIN is NOT used, Listia WILL NOT get a %, only the Fee you pay to qdd a GIN to your Listing... It sounds a bit confusing, but really not once you see it in action hunn... ) Continued in nxt comment......
Oh my Goodness, Hi there Deisy3 =) First of all, welcome! We were all new here at one time so I hope you find your Listian Leggs and Get the hang of it real soonk as I KNOW you will COmplete;y LOVE LOVE LOVE this amazing Community!!! As for a GIN, You will have to have certain "Badges" and have had a certain # of Auctions before you will even have the ability to put a GIN on your listings... Plus, For you to put a GIN on an Auction of yours, YOU have to PAY Listia a certain percentage of your winning bid (I'm not sure what the % is exactly as I have only used GIN a couple times) Continued in nxt comment.....
its not just 1,000 credits its whatever you want to put it, I hope you aren't trying to low ball her because shes new? People usually put it pretty high, for this auction I would say around 2500
