'RIO GRANDE' - Heirloom Tomato 35 Seeds.

A great paste tomato Developed in Mexico. Vigorous plants produce heavy crops of tomatoes in clusters and seem to
do well in weather extremes, both hot and cold.

Disease resistant and extremely productive. Wonderful Mid-early, oval/egg-shaped tomato that is larger,
more productive and more flavorful than Roma.
Says its a determinate/bush type, so should grow to a point and then most the fruits mature around the same time.
The picture of the packet of seeds is my own pic. Tomato pics i got from off the internet.

I do have different vegetable varieties of seed that are older than 70 years old. Heirloom seeds are fun to see if germination still occurres. As long as your seeds are kept in a moderate climate and stored in a proper way, they should last for many years. When in doubt, toss them in the icebox for a day before planting. You'll be surprised at the germination ratio.

Newer heirloom seeds are usually an average of 85% - 90% germination ratio. As time goes by, the ratio lessens depending upon how they were stored and in what particular climate.

I have 35 year old bell pepper seeds (sweet pepper) given to me from a backyard gardener in Chicago that have been doing just wonderfully for the past few years. Cheers ~LosAngeles
