This auction is for an NGC Graded at MS65, Type 2, 1976 "Ike" One Dollar Coin.

Finding this coin already graded, and returning such a high grade is really tough to do these days. Not too many were actually sent in for grading since not many were able to return a decent grade

You are correct with the high-grades being scares. I was actually reading an article the other day about abundance of lower grade Ike’s but higher grades are very scarce with 68/69 almost unheard of.

you know it. I always thought that it seemed as though the mint just punched out as many as they could as fast as they could. and all of these meant for circulation were packed in bags much more often than in rolls and with that much surface area, they were bound to get beat up badly.
