Questions & Comments
see, ive just bid at least 500 credits within minutes, so, that tells me that someone has a high, high bid, just waitin there to WIPE ME OUT!!!! i've never had such tough bidding...i dont have that many credits, and i dont really have the time to keep putting bids in, only for them to tell me to SUBMIT MORE!!! again, the person could have a million credits in bid...i just dunno :-( sheri...crying! :-)
OMG ~ I can't believe i am back again...the first message at "strange masked man!" i wonder if HE is the one that is outbidding me and wants these pins more than i do!!! :-)
this is tooooo addicting...im tryin to leave, i MUST take pix of kewl jewelry to list on LISTIA!!!! but, I GOT IT!!! ~ the person that is FRANTICALLY BIDDING, and won't even be "REAL" enough to pop-in and say hello, HAS LOST HIS DEAR MEDAL FROM WWII AND T H I N K S THIS IS IT!!!! boy, is he going to be disappointed when he receives it in the mail and realizes it is NOT the same pin....who's the fool NOW??? ha ha ha sorry, just kiddin with you, "unknown bidder...too much coffee!!! i hope you win and you enjoy your pin. and, IF you ARE a WWII vet, then, thank you very much for risking your life and fighting for this wonderful country of ours....
well, THAT's IT, ol' troyboy...or is it "trollboy!" sorry, but i almost typed that! by accident, of course. so, i just bid some more....i thought, well MAYBE "they" have it in for 2,000 credets, even, so, i TRIED 2003....and crossed my fingers!! oh well, it sure was fun...a really CHEAP THRILL! ~ and i've enjoyed our banter back and forth.... i'm sure i will see you around LISTIA...somewhere...someplace!!! when you least expect....remember that? from, hmmm....let me think here, come on, Sheri, use that one brain cell you have been trying to hold onto....oh, CANDID CAMERA!!! HA HA HA later, hun... sheri in lake tahoe :-)
aaaahhhhhh....how sweet of you to say, and you don't even REALLY know me!!! ~ well, maybe just a bit! :-) i like to think that i am sweet and sassy. da.. ~ ... you made my day, royboy! so, are you willing to throw a SURPRISE or two into this "POT?" light em' up! ~ roy boy!!! boy, you got me on a roll!!! :-) your "bud!!!" sheri in lake tahoe
so, TB, what would happen if I BID 100,000,000 credits?!!!!!!! somethin' to THINK about...ponder the thought!!!! ha ha ha ! i'd have to sell my body to pay for the pins!!! (do you have change for $1 !!! hehehe :-) sheri p.s. don't worry, i would NEVER do that to you,,,,,unless i thought i could get away with it!!! ha ha ~ NOT!
ok, troy, im EXHAUSTED! mentally and physically! do you have any other pins or vintage lil' things you could "thorw in there" to "sweeten the POT!!!" just asking, cuz, i think i will have to stop bidding. thanks! sheri :-)
ya know, troy boy, i just looked at the pins again....and, i now realize it is the yin-yang symbol in the center that attracts me! probably cuz i subconsciously think of all war as horrible and fruitless...then, you/I/one sees the yin=yang, and they are immediately transcended into a different world...a happier world with promise and hope...ya know? kinda sweet... :-)
darn! im not EXACTLY sure how the bidding works...like, if you put in 500 credits, and you are the high bid, but its only at 420 (:-) !!!) if the bidding stops, or there are more bids, but no more that 500 credits....does the selller get the 500 credits that you were WILLING TO BID? i just dont know about that, and it is a good question. there has to be some sort of PENALTY when someone is bidding, else EVERYONE when bid 1,000,000 credits!!! right? or is it just a hassle to "tie up" all your credits by bidding higher and waiting to see if you win...but, IF you have 1,000,000 credits "in the bank" (your LISTIA account) then you wouldnt care if your credits are tied up...do you know what i mean? there HAS to be some sort of PENALTY...HHHMMM...i keep asking you all of these questions!!! i do apologize,,,so sorry! i guess they are just comin' up, and im callin em' as i sees em' !!! i think it is just cuz you LOOK like a smart guy!!!! late sheri :-)
yup! wow! i hope that someday i have sumthin worth 160,000 credits! thats awesome...do you still have any left?! i hope so! i KNOW i wouldnt!! i hope i get these...i was totally watching an auction, i had 3 minutes left and i was high bid. i went to make coffee, peeked over and still saw "CONGRATULATIONS, high bid," whatever,,,then, when i got closer, the auction had ended...and it still said "CONGRATULATION, high bid, etc," but underneath it said YOU WERE OUTBID!!!! so, i learned that one the hard way! i did sneak into a lovely celtic hand carved wood box last nite at the last few minutes and scored it! QUESTION: do you know if you just sit at the end of an auction as the HIGH BID, if you will see others bidding frantically at the last seconds, too ~ like, do you see the numbers change right before your eyes, or is there a special way of bidding at the end...if you do know this, please let me know!!!! i dont want to lose out on these awesome pins...ive been thinkin' about them all day and even sketched them so i would have a reference to check out what war these are possibly from. sheri
i guess you are watching your auction...good boy!!! nobody is sayin much,,,just you and me, kid!!! :-) so, hopefully, for ME...i will stay on TOP!!! i agree with you...LISTIA is waaaaaay fun, ive only been here 2 weeks, put some jewelry up for auction and got great bids...even 4500 for an old silver and abalone bracelet...i was pleasantly surprised. how long have you been here at LISTIA? im meeting lovely people as well....cul sheri
i sold a 1944 silver bracelet went for 16000 something ..great auction..been at it a little less than than a month and 1/2.....doing great with the great people and great auction...can"t complain.. once again i wish you luck on listia and bidding on my free stuff...................take care.....................troy
you are quite welcome, again!!! im glad you stopped by! im going C R A Z Y with all of this LISTIA stuff!! its waaaaaaay FUN, but soooooo time consuming ~ and addicting!!! i could have a worse addiction,,,cigs and LYSTIA...im ALMOST perfect!!! NOT! so, im glad you commented, cuz i know it ends tonight. i am waay confused as to time zones! my geography aint so great, either!!! ha ha ha so, is PDT in michigan mean PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME, and is that 3 hours later than california? ill look all this up on the net, later....and then there is PACIFIC STANDARD TIME, EASTERN STANDARD ? is there? EASTERN DAYLIGHT? ~ MOUNTAIN TIME....i think there is a few=state zone that has its own weird time zone, like 2 hours later...east of me a bit, and west of you a little. so confusing...and, just when i get it ALL FIGURED OUT, i know we are coming up to a TIME CHANGE!!! and, when is that? so many quesions for poor troy boy! you dont have to answer them if you dont have time. thanks again, i hope i "stay on top!" just where i should be! i would LOVE to win these...they are just too kewl,,,,,IF only they could talk...the gruesome stories i bet they could tell....sheri in lake tahoe :-)
wow thats great i love listia alot to.......it has worked for me pretty well.....get to meet great new people and have fun doing it....the bonus is making people happy...and find a wanting home for rare item that you have admired for many years.........................................thank you for all replys...................troy
yw, troyboy...kewl name! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER...and, since i love marcasites, i know a bit about them....they are not used nearly as much as they were "back in the day!" it probably costs the same to facet them as diamonds, and, of course that is too time consuming and costly, when they can get soooo much more $ using diamonds. but, the MARCASITES are sooooooo beautiful...damonds look like a chunk (if you are lucky, a CHUNK!!! ha ha !) or piece of glass. b o r i n g! fondly, sheri in lake tahoe :-) oh, and i see i am "still on top!" just where i like to be!
hi, again, troyboy! you are quite welcome for the info...and, i am bidding on your marcasite ss ring...its just beautiful! FYI, marcasite, is a gray-colored, iron ore stone used a lot in the 20's - 40's or so...it was referred to as "the POOR MAN's DIAMOND," as it sparkles and shines like diamonds, however...iron ore is found and plentiful in the earth. i HATE DIAMONDS, and LOVE MARCASITES! cul sheri in lake tahoe :-)
oh, i JUST checked on EBAY ~ they had only 1 that looked similar...same rectanguler shape and its a pin, with yellow stripes. not near as unique looking as yours. oooopsss...i shouldnt say all this....! :-) but, it was from WORLD WARII so they said....it was up for, starting bid of $3.79 and 0 bids yet. i really want these, and, i think i will have a new item to look out for,,,,and, probably a NEW ADDICTION~VINTAGE WAR PINS!!!! well, i could be a worse addiction like drugs!!! ha ha fondly, sheri in lake tahoe :-)
