Botanical Name: Brassica oleracea

Days to Maturity: 50 - 58

Plant Characteristics:
• Bulbous
• Cool season

Heirloom variety noted for its milder flavor. Flat, greenish-white, 2 inch 'bulb' with tender, white, slightly pungent flesh. Slow to bolt. Dwarf plant with short tops, medium stems and small leaves. Resembles an "above-ground" turnip. Grow in cool weather.

Will survive the winter in mild areas.

Carole...... I answered this below as well. This will go to your "inbox" however. Yes, these are edible. Very crunchy. The veggie actually grows right above the ground level and is a bulb type veggie. Delicious raw. Can be cooked. I am wanting to try fermenting some this year.

Yes. They are edible. Most of the produce is right above the ground. They are crunchy and excellent raw. They can also be cooked. I am hoping on also fermenting some this year!!!!!! They have a real clean light type taste. Crunchy (like a radish there).

No, this is not anything like a tomato. Kind of like a turnip in some ways, but grows above ground. Has a light taste. I want to say like a cucumber, but that is not right either.
