This usb hub is small , portable compact
used, its my old one. it can turn 1 usb port in 4 ports
has a power hook up on one side ( use universal power adapter not included) does not need external power source , unless your plugging in something big like printer.

Questions & Comments

the power would be for a 1TB+ external HardDrive or if you like me and have 2 externals and more pluged in at the same time. I used to have 1 but burned it up just by using my 1TB external HD and 2 small items.

ok as with most external USB ports the bigger the item the more power it will need to draw from the USB and the computer. I have 1 1 tb external drive hooked up to a 4 port usb hub. BUT it need more power so i went and bought one of them multi tipped universal power adapter. SO for any outside the computer USB always use ac powered booster or you will keep burning up usb hubs
