You may be aware of the BTC scam I was caught in last weekend ... see my last three photos, screen shots of the gangster abusive messages he sent.

This seller had more than 9,000 listings running ... AFTER I won the listing. Despite the obvious scam nature, I (and all other winners) must wait three days to request a refund ... then another five to "give the seller a chance." The account is still active as of this writing.

Let's start a discussion about this.
~ post a comment if you see oddities, like 9,000 listings running ... sheesh. *Don't make accusations*... just tell us what you SEE ...

How do YOU spot scams?

☘️ ~ Let's learn how to spot scams together ~☘️
A Neighborhood Patrol, if you will.

❤️ ~ IMPORTANT NOTE ~❤️
The BTC seller who scammed ME last weekend is a long-time LIstia member with a good track record ... NOT a newbie. NO CLUE what happened there.

In the past two weeks, I've won MANY gift cards and other items from people BRAND NEW to LIstia ... here because of INK.

☘️~ NOT all newbies are scammers! ☘️

These terrific new members are a WELCOME benefit of the upcoming INK conversion. I fear we will lose the good ones ... they too will get disgusted and discouraged by Listia's slow and unresponsive mediation system.

I hope to bring attention to this issue so LIstia will CHANGE it.

BTC listings on LIstia ... please read!

On Listia we have people listing less than $2 worth of bitcoin for 800,000 credits ... ugh, maybe not a scam but certainly a form of THEFT ...

Before you bid on or GIN a cyrpto-currency listing CHECK the dollar value TODAY. That is EASY to do once you have a coinbase account ... fire up that baby and go to "buy" ... choose the coin (ETH, BTC etc) and put in the amount of whatever coin you are looking at and see what it is worth in dollars.
⚡️
Be sure to COUNT the decimal points. Yup, put your readers on because you're gonna need them ... be particularly careful with BTC listings because they ALWAYS have a LOTTA decimal points.
⚡️
If it is a BTC listing that's something like .000002 ... coinbase can't calculate an amount that small. So just keep lopping off the zeros until the $$$ value can be shown on the "buy" page ... then divide that by 10, 100, 1000 ... depending on the number of zeros you had to delete.

So, .000002 you can't see a value ... that's FIVE zeros.
➜ .00002 (four zeros) ... nope, doesn't work either
➜ .0002 (three zeros) EUREKA it shows $2.73 ... NOW add those zeros back ... two more zeros (decimal points) means that this wowzer crypto listing is worth $.0273 ~ That is 2-3 PENNIES ... don't bother with listings like that. They are worthless ...and almost always overpriced.

I hope that helps the newbies ... again be SURE you have reading glasses to COUNT all those ZEROS ...

Well...I still am almost clueless in this INK stuff. But I'll have my name in lights for a little while on your auction! I'm getting my feet wet as they say! I did the Coinbase set up. What I really need is for my grandson to come teach an old dog new tricks! Thank you for all the info so far!

Trust me, coinbase is really easy. I'm a newbie too and it's nice to have such an EASY tool to use ...
❤️
Ink will be a good thing on LIstia, but it WILL change this web site to be a more serious selling venue because INK will have a specific dollar value, unlike credits, where the "value" is completely artificial and backed by NOTHING.

I listed an ETH Get it Now that is valued at about $5-$6, specifically for newbies who want to try it out without spending a LOT on it. AND my listing is a FAIR price ... lots of the other BTC and ETH listings on Listia are for pennies, or even way less than a penny.

With your coinbase account you can see how much something is worth in a flash. I have it on my phone and use it constantly to evaluate how much a listing is worth.
❤️
If you or ANYONE would like me to, I can start an ETH listing that is worth even less, about $1, just so you can test-drive your new coinbase account ... let me know!

If I go to "my account" there are several wallets: BTC, BCH, ETH,LTC USD & Vault. I had to fill out more information for the USD wallet but really didn't know if I needed to sign up for it. Pretty sure I'll never need a vault for any reason :)

Correct, coinbase ONLY handles those four coins.

Yes, I'm sure you had to verify to get your coinbase account connected to your bank account. I think coinbase lets you connect to paypal also, but I haven't done that.

Good job, you do NOT need your kids to help you ... you got this under control girl (or boy) whatever you are ... ☺

Well, I like it but I'm biased ... ETH is going up a little each day and all crypto seems to be stabilizing. It's been a roller-coaster like the stock market the past week or so.

If you are ☄ NEW ☄ to crypto see my "newbie" listing ... I'm also happy to create a listing for even FEWER credits if someone wants to try it out.

I might also start listing ETH by the $$$ value ... winner gets $5 or $10 (or whatever) worth of ETH regardless of the ETH value ... do you think that would be better for beginners? Let me know!

You got THAT right ... don't get me started ...

Back to business ... your previous comment was good advice for spotting scammers. If they are getting comments and never respond, that's a clue that they are just playing games.

I know ... I'm pretty careful about scams and I actually make a HOBBY of winning them so I can get Lilstia to take action. This one wasn't obvious but I'm glad I won it. No telling what would've happened if someone else had just let Listia take its merry time ...

I AM a scammer's worst nightmare. ZERO tolerance ...

If you won a BTC listing from troysavage420, you should have a refund today.

It has been EIGHT days since the scammer took my 55 million credits for his high-dollar BTC listing. He had been on Listia a long time with good feedback ... no one suspected it was a scam.

He said it was the last of his BTC ... and then *posted more than 9,000 listings* for MORE bitcoin. I alerted Listia right away but still had to wait the three days to request a refund. It took Listia ALL day to take down all those listings~which were ending every few seconds and in the meantime a bunch of people had won more scam BTC listings from him.

After eight days of "waiting for a moderator to respond" I got on LIstia's INK chat and blew my top. I got my credits back. His account is closed.

If you ALSO won a listing from him and are still waiting, contact Listia. Maybe they will refund everyone automatically now that the account is closed ... I dunno.

➜ ➜ ➜ ALWAYS ALWAY ALWAYS bid with people who are trusted sellers.

We have a MANY good *NEW sellers* on Listia, thanks to INK ... but try to be wary of anyone when it comes to digital items ~ check out what else they have listed, and if they have RECENT good feedback from buyers.

It should NOT take MORE than a week to get a refund on a digital item. I have ASKED Listia (not so nicely) to FIX this system ... I hope they do that.

I am in my happy place again ... onward and upward and THANKS for checking out my ETH listing!

Thank you. I will let you know when I'm ready to have you list one! That would be great. I set up a U.S. wallet but didn't know if I needed to do that. Meant to ask you.

Do you mean you set it up for US $$$?
Yes, you gotta do that if you plan to buy any "coins" via coinbase.
Or cash out your "coin" to your bank account.

But if I send you ETH from my coinbase account to yours, you don't need any money to do that.

I think that is what you are talking about, correct?

should I get a coinbase purse on my own first?
Feb 9th, 2018 at 9:00:17 AM PST by
Original
Yes ... I highly recommend doing that because I think it might be the easiest way to cash out INK on LIstia. The system for doing that is uncertain ... they can't really explain it right now because they legally can't comment on exchanges until INK is released Feb. 28.

It costs you NOTHING to open a coinbase account.
Go to the web site ... set up your account and THEN click on the security settings and DO THEM ... it's NOT obvious because they are not required to sign up but you should absolutely secure your account with all the tools they offer.

I am NEW to this too!
Coinbase is REALLY easy to use ... just go slow. Poke around it. Get the feel for it before you do to much. If you win any ETH from me I'll help walk you through it. I can list a small amount of ETH if you'd like me to do that ... just let me know.

Also put the app on your phone. It's really easy and lets you watch the value of the coins moment by moment.

It really IS fun ... I don't send from my phone, I only do that on the computer because I can see it better, but I'm sure most people use the coinbase app for everything ...

If the "tiers" in this listing become outdated, I WILL change them to be fair to the winner of this listing!

I'm watching the prices of ETH at the moment. Seems foolish to change the tiers right now ... so bear with me and I'll post an update to the prices early in the day that this listing ends!

Post your suggestions to comments!

When our credits convert to ink that is a crypto currency also. I think Listia will make it easy for Listia users so you don’t need to become a crypto expert by any means!

Just use it on Listia if that is what you want to do. Or cash it out with no waiting or restrictions. Unlike the current credit cash-out system.

But you will own your InK and can trade it on public exchanges if you want to. I’m sure a lot of people will play with ink like that. But you don’t have to.

Really. Don’t worry about it now. If you decide to trade your INK publicly it really isn’t that hard. But not anything you HAVE to know!

Sorta like swimming in mud eh?
Really, you don't have to know about crypto-currency to enjoy INK once Listia converts credits. But it can be fun to learn about it ... they say learning new things keeps us young. I've turned back the clock at least a few decades in the past month or so ... LOL.

Sorry for the delay in responding.
Yesterday was my husband's 65th birthday. And I had a dentist appointment and took my mother-in-law (age 89) to town with me to run errands. So for the first time in about two weeks, my day wasn't dedicated to LIstia ... LOL

Be sure to see the new tiers I've added to to my Amazon gift-card listing,
❤️ ~win up to a $160 gift card! ❤️

Search "natahoa" to find that listing ... it ends Saturday night!
