Description

The listing, 20.00 Mormon Coin has ended.

I took it to a coin shop however, they wanted to take it and send it off said it would take weeks to verify authenticity. So I said no! My maiden name is Whitmer which has history w/Book of Mormon

Is the color silver or golden? Can you post a better picture of the coin/token?

It is a weird golden color almost metallic gold. I have had it for years thinking it was silly. But since it was passed down to me and the Whitmers do have history w/Book of Mormon my friend suggested I take it to a coin shop.Which I did however, they needed to send it off for some time and I didnt do it.

Hey Gambit64, welcome to listia. Just a bit of advice, you might want to change your shipping to free till you are verified and have sold a couple of items. Good luck!

It's a weird gold color! In some light it look metallic. It's been past down to me I received it at the age of 9 and kept it among various personal items not knowing what to do w/it. My Grandparents fell ill and moved out of the state. We never discussed the coin again. I just kept it in my jewelery box and carried on about my business

Yes, I know However, terrible it may seem- I have learned that material objects must be let go of and I would rather it be an option or choice of my own. I have held on to it and whether or not I understood its significance completely I did understand the love and trust behind the gesture. I have my reasons thank you for addressing that .

My 2009 red book of us coins shows the spacing of the lettering is wrong for the one being auctioned here... also the eye looks wrong.... the hand shake is too detailed & the bottom of "ty" in twenty looks like "copy" was filed off..... i doubt if it is real, they have a fishy story, a coin shop would not send a copy coin out to see if it's real because coin shops know when a coin is real!!! the coin shop would have offered her $125,000.00 if the coin was real!!!

I am not saying it is real. But what I say is true! The coin shop could not say it was a fake. They doubted that I could possibly have an authentic and wanted me to trust it with them. But they could NOT say it was fake. I would not and could not care if anybody bid on it....why would they give me 125.000$ when its not even worth that regardless? Youdonot

Sorry guy with "red" book you know less than I do and I dont know much about it. Other than how I got it and what I have learned since posting it on here. But I do know that NOBODY is going to buy any 20.00 coin for 125.000$ from the gate. With a test they have in their little building.
