now Ive heard of circular knitting needles and how they work, but how does this work? say I have a pattern that is worked from r to l on every row, does it eliminate me having to cut yarn etc. but only if it is a joined circle or what? tryin to decide if i should bid or not.

No - It really is Tunisian crochet ( which is also called Tunisian knitting) It allows you to crochet from either side of the piece because some patterns are set up to work that way - whether for texture or for color placements. It is also helpful for Large Tunisian pieces as you have the wire to hold all the stitches - instead of having to make strips. Look it up - it really is a fascinating way of making stitches.

They can also be used for double end crocheting(croch-nit I think it's called). Are these hooks metal or plastic?
