The listing, Signed Earrings for Pierced ears has ended.
Beautiful pair of turquoise and another stone which I'm not certain of. Tried to show the markings on the back of the earrings. It looks like a L to me. These earrings feel a little heavy to me.
It looks as though it is sugilite or Charoite stone in purple. If it is marble look purple, it is charoite, if it is a solid purple milk it is sugilite, I believe.

These most likely would be silver. I wish it had more markings. Sometimes they would mark jewelry with 2 letters , where it was made and the first initial of who it was made by. Like if it had a TL, the first letter would be Taxaco, the last letter the one of the person who made it. Also, sometimes there would be numbers to say where it as made at , such a #3 is Taxaco, (which I would always look for) #1 is Mexico City, etc. But these are an excellent pair of earrings!
By the design, I do not think this is Indian. I am pretty sure that it is Mexican, maybe from Los Castillo or Los Ballestero, the gem stone looks to be old amyethst, maybe from the 1960's. I have alot of old turquoise from down around those parts, also alot of tursqoise and jade. Could also be purple jade. But I am pretty certain that it is Mexican. Maybe even from Taxaco, and it doesnt get any better than that.
What a huge lot of very interesting information!! Thank you so much for letting us know. These were from my Grandmother's jewelry, and she did indeed go to Mexico in the 60's. I bet your accurate on this sleepyjns!! Laughing because we have old photos of her riding a donkey down the street there as a tourist..
That's a good question! The answer is I don't know. The metal is high end, and the embossed letter is stamped deeply and pretty clear. The earrings are old and haven't been worn much. They feel too heavy to me when worn. Thank you hoptl.
