Questions & Comments
I'm desperate for some info on growing cilantro. No matter what I do, the plants never bush out - they just grow straight up, with few leaves, and then to seed. I know this isn't really the proper forum, but I noticed you are in Rochester and hoped you might be able to help.
I know what you mean. I found that when I tried to grow it in containers, it went right to seed and I guessed it was because the soil warmed up too much. I tried planting it in the ground, with better results. However, it was never bushy in any way. I would plant new seeds every other week so that I would always have some growing. If you pinch off the flowers, that will give you more leaves, but letting seeds develop will also give you more to plant (after they dry to a brown color). I hope that helps a little!
