Thanks for the info. I don't clean mine either... But alas, this penny is more than 100 years old and who know what it has been subjected to. it just looked like it has been put through a polisher... I know what that looks like. I metal detect and when I dig up really crappy dirty corroded coins, I put them through a stone polisher to make them presentable. I'm not talking collectible coins... just ordinary everyday change. And when I polish they have that same appearance.
