THIS is a one of a king necklace hand made by me. i use tagua nut which comes from the rain forests in the amazon. tagua is harvested when the nut falls from the trees...as to not damage or kill the trees....as you can see in some of the pictures it is not so pretty when it is in raw form...it is soft inside and must be dried for quite a few weeks. after it has dried it is hard like ivory...and is also known as vegetable ivory....it resembles elephant ivory and has saved many elephant lives because it can be carved and shaped into beautiful jewelry and sculptures and you don't have to kill an elephant for this ivory.anyway the tagua is shaped and dyed many different colors and all this is done by the indiginous people of the latin american countries...each piece has been made of love and hard work and pride. i hope you like this item it is made with waxed cord and then i use macarme knots and tagua..it is about 24" long but can easily be adjusted shorter....beautiful with any outfit it is light weight and also eco friendly..all natural...nature at its best....thanks for looking..hope you like and bid...aly
