Description

The listing, Dressmaker Portable Zig-Zag Sewing Machine w/Case, Manual-Works Great! has ended.

This is a vintage all-metal "Dressmaker" zig-zag portable sewing machine. It is a flatbed style sewing machine that does very basic stitches--straight and zig-zag in various lengths and widths (which are fully adjustable). It has drop feed dogs for darning or free-motion quilting, automatic bobbin winder, push-button reverse, and twin needle sewing capability. It has a numbered tension dial, working light with on/off switch, and removable class 15 bobbin case (included). It uses very inexpensive class 15 metal bobbins and 15x1 sewing machine needles (all available at Wal-Mart or any store selling sewing items). It even comes with the original owner's instruction manual! The original retail price of this machine is shown on the front of the manual--wow! This machine has been serviced by me, a certified sewing machine repair technician, and is in excellent working condition! It has been oiled and tested, and it sews a beautiful stitch, as shown on the sample. It comes in a plastic portable carrying case that is clean but has seen better days, but it will serve the purpose. The machine could easily be mounted into a flatbed sewing machine cabinet if so desired. It does have the power cord/foot controller. It will arrive ready to sew right away, and I'll include a couple of extra bobbins to get you started. This machine is desirable over a newer, cheap plastic model as it has all-metal insides with no plastic gears to break, and it is one tough machine that should sew through almost any project you have! The body is also mostly metal, so it is rather heavy compared to a plastic model but not as heavy as some older models. Because of the shipping weight and package size, I cannot provide free shipping on this, but going by estimates of other sewing machines of this type I have shipped all over the US, I would estimate shipping to run between $15-30, depending on your location from me which is zip code 72450 in Arkansas. Paypal or cash works for shipping.

how much to ship to 79250

It looks like about $27 USPS (not counting any ebay fees I am charged to accept the payment which is .30 per transaction plus about 3% of the total sent to me which can be via credit card if desired). UPS is showing almost $40 for the same sized package, so I'm guessing USPS would be preferred to your location. However, this is an estimate at this point on the weight which may possibly be less but shouldn't be more, so you can plan on the amount not being more than stated as near as I can tell. Thanks for asking!

I'm sorry on that first reply, but that is supposed to be PAYPAL fees--not ebay! I have a premier Paypal (merchant) account, so I am charged for accepting each and every payment I receive, but you can pay me via credit card, debit card, checking account, or Paypal balance using Paypal. I also will take concealed cash or money orders for postage fees, and if paying it this way, there is no charge for using Paypal. I will pack the machine as securely as I do any other machines I've shipped over the past 15 years.

Could you tell me the cost for shipping to 72740? I know we are not far aprt.
, but I do not know where Paragould is at. Or how to get there. Can you tell me how to get there? Huntsville,AR. Thanks Norma

It looks like about $24 USPS. I have been to Huntsville before, and you are several hours away from Paragould. Paragould is in Northeast Arkansas, 8 miles from the Missouri bootheel, 75 miles from Memphis, TN, and about 18 miles northwest of Jonesboro, AR. Paragould has a city population of about 27,000 while Jonesboro is over double that now (Arkansas State University is located in Jonesboro). Go to mapquest.com or google maps to get directions, mileage, and travel time between us, though to be honest, it would be cheaper to have it shipped unless you had another purpose over this way (maybe to go see Graceland in Memphis?). Thanks, and good luck!

Hi...Another question...this auction expires in about 4 days...I have accumulated some credits from my auctions and I am watching this one closely, but I have a question...I live off of SSDI and only receive a check once a month as I am sure you are aware of...If I bid and win, could shipping be postponed until I can pay the exact shipping fee after I get my check on the 3rd of next month...waiting for reply and Thanks in advance....Lee

If you win, that should be fine, but please do plan on sending it when you say you will, or I won't wait any longer to relist after that point. Also, it would need to be via Paypal if I wait that long which will include the fee Paypal charges my premier account to receive every payment. Thanks!

How much does it weigh

Shipping is going to be on around 50 pounds with the case. I think the machine itself is around 40. I hope this helps!

Can you tell me about how much shipping to 75080?
Thanks!

It looks like about $26.25 if paying cash or money order, or around a $1 more if paying via Paypal to cover the Paypal acceptance fee. Once I have it packed and know your preference of payment method, I'll be able to give you an exact shipping amount that could be less than the quote but shouldn't be any more. Then I will ship immediately after receiving the shipping payment whether via Paypal or snail mail. Of course, local pick-up is always an option for anyone for free! Thanks!

Will definitely keep my word about sending the payment as soon as I get my check if I win....you can consider that a PROMISE and I ALWAYS KEEP PROMISES.

Around how much would it be to 10002?

It looks like about $31.65 to New York which is going to be about the max it would cost to ship this package (and it could possible be less once packed). That is without the Paypal fee if paying by that method. I'll have to compute the fee based on what the final shipping is since I'm charged a flat rate plus a percentage per transaction based on the amount received. And as always, I accept concealed cash or money orders via snail mail. I tried UPS as well but am getting rates much higher than USPS on this particular sized package.

Does this machine sew through thick fabric?
How about leather?
Thanks.

It will handle most fabrics that will fit underneath the presser foot which is also going to depend on the size and type of needle and thread used as well. I wouldn't recommend any household rated machine (meaning non-industrial/commercial) for sewing most leathers on any regular basis (yet many commercial machines are), but yes, this one is sturdy enough to do some leather sewing with the correct leather needle and thread. I hope this helps!
