This has never been used, but I did take it out of the package to see if it works, and it does. :)
It takes two AAA batteries.

did you use this to see if it works...? then it is not clean and has been used, even if you used it once.. there is no other way you can see if it removes hair ! How do you know it works ??? did you put a battery in it... ? or what ?

I did not use it, but I put the batteries in it and turned it on.
