It seems I am not the only one who fell in love with this darling obsidian fox. I have gotten several requests to put the extra one I had up for auction, so here goes. First let me say he is very difficult to photograph, so please forgive the pictures.

Black obsidian is a type of natural glass. Obsidian forms when hot volcanic lava becomes submerged in water. It is composed of silica dioxide and has a glassy appearance. Of the "New Age" stones, obsidian is considered one of the most important spiritual teachers and is referred to as the "stone of truth."

Metaphysical Properties

Obsidian is used to aid in removing doubt and negative thoughts. It is also used to ward off psychic attacks and for divination. Obsidian is known as the Crystal of Truth and helps with issues of honesty and truth.

Healing
Obsidian is beneficial for ailments relating to digestion and helps to reduce food cravings. Its healing properties also include aiding vision, arthritis, and hardening of the arteries.

Feng Shui
In Feng Shui, obsidian is used in the North area for personal journey and in the Center for grounding and protection.

So this little guy comes with a very impressive pedigree.
Like I said, I have never been so taken with a bead before...but what a focal point he is! He will make a really fantastic piece of jewelry.
