Questions & Comments
Thank you, actually I was just about to pull this auction...I am a Seattle Mariners fan, and Jamie Moyer has so much history here. I am letting this go, as I no longer watch them play (was a group activity with my sister and my son...long distance no less lol) and I have lost them both, 11 months apart. But I still have great affection for so many of the players...the Mariners are so much a community oriented team (or were, idk any more) but Jamie and his wife started a foundation and raised so much $$ to help families of ill children..just an incredibly nice man.
agreed!,,so funny I got a package today stuffed with newspaper from Milwaukee...and I glanced at a part of it on the floor, and what should I see buy a headline in the sports section "Who needs fountain of youth? Not Moyer. lol there are tears and it is crumpled, but I laid it out on my counter to try to smooth and tape...how's THAT for karma??? lol They were saying that the rotation did not allow Jamie to Start against the Brewers...and that' it is likely that Brewer fans have seen the last of him'...but never say never...I haven't read the whole thing, yet but it made me smile!
I met Jamie...what an honor and I will never, ever forget his modesty and 'attitude of gratitude' and how he ALWAYS took the young pitchers under his wing and told them how to pitch every player...he would sit and take notes on every player...and he shared that. oh gosh, I'm sentimental...lol I also have many Mariners caps, more unopened cards like this one for other players, AND a "Mariners Fan Club cap (my favorite, and this pin lived on it. The Fan Club was discontinued when they moved into Safeco. So the cap is also special..
