This is a rectangular lace shawl, with both written and charted instructions. The chart for this pattern was created by Cathy Scott using the StitchMastery Knitting Chart Editor, and the photographs in the pattern are from Digital Photography by Joe and Suzy.

This is not a beginner's pattern, unless you're like me and just go for it. I'd recommend a free pattern from Ravelry, 198 Yds. of Heaven.
