The listing, 1/2 Carat Ruby & Diamond-like CZ Sterling Silver Heart Necklace & Earrings Perfect for Mother's Day has ended.

Give your mom something that she will love for Mother' Day! NEW genuine ruby sterling silver heart necklace and earrings set with diamond-like cubic zirconia. The CZs shine clear like diamonds! The rubies in the earrings are round cut, and they are about 3mm wide/long. The rubies in the necklace vary in size from about 1mm round cut to 2mm long x 1mm wide oval cut. As you can see in the second picture, the chain is stamped 925 and it is made in Italy. The heart and two earring backs and posts are stamped 925, and they are made in China. I estimate that there is at least 1/2 carat total weight of high-quality rubies.

The heart pendant measures approximately 13/16" (more than 3/4", but less than 1") wide, and 1 1/8" long (with bale). The chain is 18" long.

I, personally, professionally tested the pendant and earrings to ensure that they are genuine rubies with a Presidium Gem Tester (please see pictures 3-5). You will receive the necklace and earrings with the red velvet box.

Comes from a smoke-free, hairy pet-free home (I have a snake and gecko, but they can do no harm : ) ).

why do people bid than ask to be out bid ? seems a little odd to me. i just had a mothers ring made and the jewerlier told me emeralds and rubies are the most expensive stones and of course i needed both lol. best of luck with your auction. i love it. f & w

IDK, that's a good question, queenkitt! I've seen some people ask for someone to outbid them because they left their Listia accounts open and their children placed a bid on the auction (oops). I can understand that scenario. But, I'm not sure why some people just change their minds, esp. if their bid is really low. Thanks so much for your input. I truly appreciate it. OK everyone, I'm going on my daily (nightly) 5 mile-ish walk now before it gets too dark (I've eaten McDonald's two days in a row, and feel like I need a walk BADLY). I think that I was watching that ring....actually, I remember that ring very clearly....It was beautiful! It had a whole bunch of diamonds (I think that it was only missing a small one), but it was still beautiful!

I took some more pics of the necklace & earrings in natural & indoor light without flash, and I was going to add them to this listing, but I can't update the listing because the listing ends so soon (Listia won't let me add them). So, if anyone wants me to send them pics of the necklace/earrings taken without flash and in natural and indoor light, send me your personal e-mail address via Listia and I'll send the pics to you (I can't attach them to a listia message, unfortunately). I can tell you that the rubies are a medium to dark red, in my opinion (they are darker than what the current pics show).

how light are the rubes???are the dark rubes or light color rubes???The lighter they are the better value they are.the darker they are the less its worth.Just wondering my mom is picky on her rubies...Its her birth stone

Actually, I always thought that the lighter quality rubies were of lower value and that the brighter, red-colored rubies were of the most value. I decided to wikipedia your question, & I discovered that the brighter red a ruby, the more valuable it is. see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby and see: http://awesomegems.info/ruby.html Light rubies are sometimes called "pink sapphires", and usually they are not as highly valued as darker rubies (in general....some ppl prefer pink sapphires, of course).

I would say that these rubies are pretty red (they are a darker red than what the first picture shows. The first picture was taken with flash, and the flash washes out the rubies). Actually, I can add a 2nd pic taken without flash if you would like me to (I just realized that I took all of the pictures with flash).

How many credits did you bid? Feel free to post the amount here if you want to. If this necklace/earring set goes for the credit amount that it's at now (258), I'll be very upset (I'll probably cry, actually) because this genuine, natural ruby and earring necklace set was expensive....very expensive (because genuine, natural rubies tend to be expensive).
