The listing, Presidential Gold Coin (rare) from 2011 has ended.

This coin from what I was told is not being made anymore. The front top of the coin has the presidents name which is: Rutherford B. Hayes name is all capital letters. Below the name of the president it has his picture. At the bottom front of the (US dollar) it reads: IN GOD WE TRUST 19th PRESIDENT 1877-1881
On the back of the coin, around the back border it reads: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in the middle back of coin it features an image of the Statue of Liberty, with a "$1" symbol on statues right. The quarter in the last picture is not included... Sorry all. The coin color is, Gold. So all you big spenders out there get your game face on! You are right, they are not being made anymore, however, the color is not gold. It is actually brass. The dollar coins are referred to as gold dollars because of the color just like the Ike and SBA dollars are reffered to as silver dollar, but actually aren't unless they are a special set. The "gold dollars" actually have 4 types of metal in them. Copper, Zinc, Maganese Brass and nickel. No Gold. Currently, uncirculated dollar coins of this type are worth about $3 in ms65 condition. Circulated ones are worth about face value unless you get a specific George Washington version. Regardless of the value now, because they made different designs each year, each design is rare compared to older versions of US Dollar Coins.
