i have up for grabs a real pearl necklace valued at 4,505 made of saltwater pearls, these would be South Sea pearls and they are available in sizes that start at 8mm and go up to 29mm.this necklace is 16-18" South Sea pearls originate from Australia and Indonesia and are among the rarest pearls in the world. Because of their rarity, tremendous size and silky luster, South Sea pearls command premium prices and are coveted by pearl collectors. Gem quality south sea pearls are extremely rare for two important reasons: one is that the Pinctada Maxima oyster used to cultivate them is a wild species - one can never be certain how many will be available for for cultivation. The second reason rests in the pearl's long cultivation period - any pearl is more likely to become flawed the longer it's left in the oyster and therefore, large, round unflawed pearls are always very rare. i have the gemologist certificate for this pearl necklace somewhere just have to find it

Is the clasp Wht gold? I'm a bit concerned now that I look closer the clasp does not look to be a clasp associated with a strand of pearls worth 4,500. I've sold to Stores on Rodeo Drive to 5th Ave I've been around alot of high end merchandise, I have a keen eye for detail & the lobster clasp on this set of pearls doesn't look highend,

So what is the mm size of these pearls as they do not look bigger than 8mm? The last photo is blurry so I'm unable to see a true measurement, Also Please post a pic of your appraisal/certificate saying these are South Sea pearls & I will be happy to bid as high as 20,000
