This listing is for one live tarragon root, dug up from the mother plant that you see in the photograph. Tarragon is a very useful herb in Italian cooking and curries.

It will grow to about 30" tall and it will spread year after year. It is a perennial grown for its foliage, although if left it will sometimes produce insignificant little yellow flowers. Cut it back after it dies in the autumn and it will grow again come the spring. It likes a sunny spot without a lot of water. It is a great companion plant as many garden pests avoid it; it also seems to enhance the growth of the plants grown near it.

I promise you the plant is live when I dig it up. The photo is from the parent plant in my herb garden (where it is spreading nicely). I know this will grow, and I will ship it promptly and package it carefully, but I do not guarantee that if you leave it in the wrapping for a week and do not tend to it that it will still be alive. Please play fair.

This is the last time I can offer free shipping on these starts. They cost between $3 and $6 to send, and I just can't afford to keep doing it at the moment. Thanks for understanding.
