Questions & Comments
do you have a facebook or twitter account? please link up with and verify your account the phone is easiest.. you give them your # they call you answer and they give you a #'d code.. Very interested but leary of un varified accounts.
i checked at the post office, and depending on where you are in the country the shipping estimate is between $3 to $5 dollars (shipped from Minnesota). I will bill it exact once the winning bidder and shipping location is determined
Just FYI, video games can be shipped at the media mail rate that is the cheapest way to ship, and if you didn't specifically (or don't) ask for it at the post office, they will offer you the more expensive options instead.
I wanted to share with you.... Delivery confirmation costs a lot, but there is a way for it to be free (I live in.a very small town, my mailcarrier friend told me about it)! Now I use it EVERY time I ship, and save a fortune! Go on USPS.com, look for SHIPPING ASSISTANT. You weigh your item (in the packaging, which I'm sure you know) and round up to the nearest ounce (can use postage scale or a food scale, any as long as they are accurate). You then just print (you don't need label paper, regular white paper works to) out the shipping label, and keep your portion. I then just put them in a Listia file - they also prove that you sent to the correct address. Put the labels on securely with shipping tape. You still have to take it to the post office, but you don't have to pay multiple tracking or confirmation fees along with postage. Hope this is helpful to you. Ginger
PS, if you are sending something small, do NOT send in a regular envelope, use a small bubble mailer or something like that. I have received 3 EMPTY envelopes in the last month!! They were Nintendo DS games, and I never got them!! Seller is responsible for item until received, so they reimbursed credits.... But I would rather have had the game!
Just a FYI on the Delivery Confirmation info. Delivery confirmation does NOT cost alot, It costs 80 cents to add to a package for Confirmation. Also if you use Stamps.com instead of USPS.com Delivery Confirmation #s are Free. Also another note for future reference, The idea you suggested for free confirmation is a good way to prove the item was sent, but if you do not have a Confirmation # to provide in case of dispute you are in fact risking losing the dispute. I have had that happen in the past and would hate to see anyone else have that happen, Always best to just pay the 80 cents for confirmation or get a Stamps.com Account, which I do recommend if you plan on shipping a lot.
Also wanted to add that Videos games CANNOT be shipped by media mail as a lot of people think. If you look at the usps website.it clearly states that media mail is ONLY for shipping of Educational Items. As per their site: "The material sent must be educational media. It can’t contain advertising, video games, computer drives, or digital drives of any kind. Media Mail can be examined by postal staff to determine if the right price has been paid. If the package is wrapped in a way that makes it impossible to examine, it will be charged the First-Class™ rate. Maximum weight is 70 lbs."
This can be found at the following address https://www.usps.com/business/media-mail-for-business.htm Just click the Rules and Regulations Tab
I have been warned once by my local post office after taking someones advice to ship video games in that manner, If they suspect you are not shipping educational material, they can open your package and refuse to ship the item. Also if you use Stamps.com and get caught using media mail they can close your Stamps.com account and ban you from the service.
