The listing, *R@RE 1883 WITH CENTS LIBERTY NICKEL* has ended.
You are bidding on an 1883 Liberty Nickel this is the RARER and more DESIRABLE "WITH CENTS" variety in 1883 the new Liberty or "V" Nickel as it is more commonly called was introduced when it was first released the U.S Government did not put the word cents on the Nickel only the "V" on the reverse to show the denomination of 5 cents but after some unscrupulous people started gold plating them and passing them for 5 dollar gold pieces the Government added the word cents to the bottom of the reverse of the coin to properly identify its denomination and although the without cents design has the lesser mintage the with cents design always commanded the higher price in any grade which goes to show lesser mintage does not always mean higher scarcity this is a nice example of this rare type coin although as you can see in the picture their is a small scratch on the 3 in the date add this rare type coin to your collection shipping in U.S.A ONLY thanks and good luck
